Mommy's 7 month old Sweetheart

Boy, how time has flown by! Just yesterday this little guy came into this world and he now just turned 7 months old on Saturday 2/27! As fast as it is going, I am trying my best to keep up with every little moment, milestone and memory, but at times I feel like I can't take it all in fast enough. Here's a low-down on what's going on with this little guy nowadays and how far he has come:
  • He can just about sit up on his own! He is good at the forward- back situp, but still working on the side to side. It's hilarious when he tumbles like a weeble-wobble!

  • He- thankfully- has moved up to medium flow bottles. Thought the poor, slowest eater on earth was going to be sipping on slow flow up into his teens! He's getting alot better with portion control and finding the right pace.

  • He is finding a new consonant every day. One day it's the baa-baa-baa's, then it's the hee-hee-hee's... can't wait for him to get to the ma-ma-ma's! It's so adorable to watch that little mind of his reeling as he wants so bad to repeat a word after us and just can't. He puckers those little lips and gives it his all though!

  • He does not meet a stranger! No matter where we go- he is stealing hearts with those adorable smiles of his. I won't even be paying attention as I am looking at something in a store and people will be crowing around our cart to come and talk to him because he lured them over with that sweet smile of his!

  • He is gaining really good hand control. He's all about grabbing these days. If it's in front of his face, he's going to grab for it... and then it usually goes straight to the mouth!

  • His pallet is growing day by day. He's still meddling in the foods, but last night he ate some chicken and gravy and applesauce like a champ! That's Mommy's meat eater!

  • He definitely knows who his Mommy and Daddy are and is starting to get a smidge of separation anxiety, which usually occurs at home when we walk away for 2 seconds! I was not looking forward to this stage and hopefully it does not get too much worse... wish us luck!

  • For the most part, he's a pretty darn good sleeper. He starts his night-time routine around 7:15ish, we read a story, have a bath and then have our night-time feeding, and then he's down about 8:30pm. He can sleep through the night until around 7:30 the next morning! He might get up with a peep around 4am, but is easily consoled with an adjustment in the bed (since he will be in some odd position, which is usually the cause of him waking up) and a paci in the mouth and he is back out until the morning. We are so blessed and are hoping this remains our routine, but let him get sick and that will go flying out the window! And then with the time change coming... I am dreading what may lie ahead. Good thing Mommy was smart when she set up his room and got black out curtains!

  • He can self-rock himself in his carseat, which I am learning is un-heard of! We just thought it was what babies do, but according to his daycare provider, she has never seen such a thing in her 29 years of taking care of babies! Is he gifted??? Only time will tell! (Honestly I think it's just because he's fidgety just like his Daddy and can't keep still for one second!)

  • He is oh so close to holding his own bottle. He grabs it and has the concept, but will either stick it in his ear or try to put it in his mouth upside down. Hopefully in few weeks we'll be there. And it will be a glorious day for all!

  • Still no teeth! Not quite sure what's taking so long, but they say the "average" baby should get them around month 7, so we'll see... Watch them all come at once! It will be some grim days here at the DiFatta household!

  • Over all he's a really good baby and we are blessed! He does has his FUSSY moments for sure, not going to lie, but they are few and far between the smiles and the laughter. He is such a joy to us and he is so very loved!
