6 Month Check-Up Stats

I had my 6 month check up yesterday. Mom and Dad both took me and I was being such a tropper until......... We went to the back and the nurse was weighing me. She thought she wanted to "tickle" me in the meantime and I'm sorry, but I don't know you- why are you tickling me? I was about to get ill with her, but Mom and Dad quickly re-directed me back on a happy path. We then went to the back and waited for what seemed like forever for the Doctor. In the meantime, I was having a blast playing with that fun paper they put on the exam table and talking with Mom and Dad. The doctor finally came back, and Mom and Dad were not impressed. We recently had to change Pediatricians due to Dad's work changing insurances on us and we went from Awesome Blue Cross to not so hot Kaiser. Our previous Pediatrician does not take Kaiser, so we are now having to go to Snellville Pediatrics. As the appointment went on, Mom and Dad did not feel comfortable with our new Doctor and honestly thought this MUST be her first day on the job! She was not clear on anything my parents asked her and had to keep referring back to her paperwork she had in her canvas satchel she brought in with her- weird- and it just made them plain uneasy. She went in circles on explaining things to us and Mom basically had to answer her own questions. Long story short, we will not be seeing her again. Good thing to go to a practice where you can "Doctor Shop".
Then came needle time- that same "tickle" nurse came back with 4 huge needles and I was not having it. She was trying to amuse me, but I was not buying into her decoy. She got me twice in each thigh and I screamed bloody murder! My first time crying during shots, might I add, but I think the fact that I was not so into the giver played a huge part. I then received some way cool Snoopy band-aids and Mom scooped me up and gave me snuggles and I was good as new. I have to go back in 4 weeks to get my 2nd round of H1N1 and flu- Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

Weight: 16.77 (32%)
Height: 27 Inches (67%)
Head Circ: 17 Inches (31%)

Basically, I am long and lean like my Mom was as a baby and how my Daddy is now. My parents were surprised about my head- since Dad thinks I have the biggest head ever- but it's just more room to store all my big brains!

Rocking Sundays are so fine...

One of my favorite things to do lately on a sunny weekend day is have Mom set me beside the french doors and look out at the nature and rock my cares away. I enjoy watching the birdies, squirrels and Romeo playing on the deck. Sad thing is, Mommy wishes it was this easy to make her cares go away...

Chil-axin' on a Saturday afternoon

Mom was doing her Mom thing, which at this particular time was laundry and I was having fun in my swing watching her. Unfortunately after a while, laundry tends to get a bit boring, so I rested my hands behind my head like I see Daddy do and took myself a Saturday afternoon nap. Aah... It's the good life!

The Michiganders came to town!

Last weekend, my Michigan family came to see me! I got to meet my Great-Grandparent's, Fay and Ron Parker and my Real Aunt Jen for the first time ever! My Grandma DiFatta also came to see me for her 3rd time now! We had a ton of fun with them and I think they all enjoyed getting lots of sugar from me. I really wish I could see them more often and wish they weren't so far away, but the times I do get to see them I enjoy it immensely. They all brought me presents and we also got to hang out with my Grandmommy and Granddaddy Hopper. They hosted everyone at their house on Sunday and we hosted everyone at our house with kabobs and the fixin's on Monday. Here are a few pics of our joyous visit together at our house.

Georgia Peaches!

Mom and Dad got me a shiney new high chair a few weeks back and I have been thoroughly enjoying it! It's mighty fancy and makes eating time alot more convenient. This particular evening, I was indulging in some yummy peaches, which we all know most likely did NOT come from Georgia! But hey- we can pretend. I am still dabbling in food and will get a more routine schedule once I have my 6 month appt. tomorrow. I so far am I pretty good eater. I enjoy green beans, peas, and I LOVE applesauce, may it be plain, with cereal and bananas, any form or fashion,I'll take it! I'm still warming up to the yellow veggies, but I'm sure I'll get there in time.

I think I got more on my face than in my mouth!

Romeo patiently waiting for anything to fall his way!

Cool- I can play with this whatcha-ma-jig and eat my peaches!

Venting from Mom

I know all Mom's tell me that it is a part of life having a baby in daycare that they stay sick, but I never thought it would be this bad! Ashton is sick yet again! We just got over a stomach bug that he had the Friday before last and that I got last Friday (Boy, was it alot of fun!), now he has been infected by yet another baby at daycare with a cough and runny nose. I am over this! Main reason, I just feel so doggone bad for the kid. He is SO pitiful with his little red eyes, runny nose and hacking cough. He has never had the cough before, which concerns me, but I have Mrs. Margaret on the watch for me and if he gets any worse today, we will be taking him to the doctor. I think this is our 5th cold this winter!!! Poor thing has been sick more in his 6 months of life than I have been in 5 years! I also feel bad because his Great-Grandparents, Grandma DiFatta and Aunt Jen will be in town this weekend to see him and he will be sick for their visit. I am just frustrated and needed to vent! All I know is come time for school the boy better never get sick, because I think he will had had every bug out there by then!!!
