On Saturday, July 22nd, we threw Ashton his 2nd birthday party at home. We invited our closest friends and family for a small intimate celebration. We had a slight Elmo theme going since Ashton loves his "Melmo" these days with decorations and an Elmo cake. We also grilled hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill and had all the fixings. Ashton had an awesome time playing with his pal Luqman and getting all sorts of love and attention from everyone. He also enjoyed the sand and water stand we got him for his BD and all the other thoughtful presents he received. We can not believe our little guy is already two! He is such a joy to us and getting so big and smart by the day. What a blessing this sweet little guy is to our lives.
Happy 2nd Birthday Buddy! We love you, Mommy & Daddy

Ashton's first Officical boo-boo and trip to the ER
One June night, enjoying our nightly ritual of having dinner and then watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, Dad and I decided to show Mom our cool excercise moves we had been doing that day while she was at work. I got a little too excited and in turn, slipped and clipped the coffee table (which is equiped with safety bumpers) in just the right way and split open my head. Mom and Dad at first thought I just hit it really hard and then realized I had an open wound and was bleeding. I was not bleeding too heavily though. It more turned instantly into a nice goose egg if anything. None the less, Mom and Dad were in a frantic and got dressed and we headed to Emory Eastside Hospital. By this point, I was all smiles and really could have cared less of what happened, but they had to make sure I was ok. Emory Eastside has a Pediatric ER, fortunately for us, and we breezed right in. I ended up needing 4 stiches and had to get wrapped up in this mummy type contraption, but I was a really good trooper and Mom and Dad were really proud of me. We were also pleased with how quickly we got in and out of the ER. With checking in, waiting and stiches and all, we were out of there in just over two hours. I still have a slight scar from my boo-boo, but it is diminishing by the day. I almost made it to 2 before experiencing my first major boo-boo and ER trip!
